The day consists of three, 2 ½ hour “mini-shows” targeted to these  functions:

Each “show” presents 75 minutes of programming and 75 minutes of “ask the experts” meetings in small groups with vendors and industry leaders. Participants rotate through “speed-dating” sessions of their choice. During the 15-minute date, the vendors will provide a summary of their services, answer questions, and collect contact information for future follow up. “Experts” will answer whatever questions attendees raise at their sessions.

The Editorial/Production session will cover the challenges of creating illustrated and enhanced ebooks, making content shareable across platforms and devices, managing various downloadable formats, overcoming cost challenges, and rimplementing and monetizing XML-first workflows.

The Digital Asset Management and Distribution session will cover the do-it-yourself option versus getting the help of a service provider. Learn how to manage sales across vendors, incorporate meta-data best practices, work with current and emerging formats, handle international territories, future-proof your processes and digital assets, and identify the potential switching costs of changing vendors.

The Rights and Royalties session will cover how to identify and properly tag and store your rights, prepare for new and emerging rights licensing opportunities, make contracts and terms more consistent, and how to maximize the value of the collective licensing done by the publishing industry’s reproduction rights organizations.
